I threw a Wombo Dream image (with the 'Made with dream.ai 'card'" format still intact, no less) into the AI-detector that I've seen most often, and it confidently rated it as 0% likely to have been AI. There is one, single foolproof way to detect AI-generated and AI-assisted images, but it's one that a lot of people won't like:

You can be absolutely confident that an artist used AI if they say that they did. Anything else, and you're going to get a s false positives (like the OP's example) and false negatives (like the bit of unicorn pastry pareidolia in mine). Unfortunately, the tendency of people on the internet to repost images without their original source (or repost them from someone else who omitted the source, or repost from a repost of a repost that omitted the source, etc) makes that difficult. More than a few AI-made 'hoaxes' that I've seen tumblr up in arms about were, on the original artist's own webpage or instagram or wherever, explicitly labeled as art projects and AI-made or as incorporating AI elements, rather than a deliberate attempt at fooling anyone- but that only helps here if people take the time to try to track down the originals. The way that some people attack anything that's open about involving AI art doesn't help, either- all that accomplishes is to incentivize people creating it to either hide what they're doing or develop a resistance to the verbal abuse, or both. Best practices would be for everyone posting AI- or AI-assisted art to label it and everyone who doesn't want to see it to just block the relevant tag/s... but there's been enough bad blood that it might be hard at this point to develop that as a community standard. I don't have any answers. I just know that the current level of detection tools and current level of suspicion and accusation aren't doing any good.

Most of my characters (that had already appeared in my story) didn't have any references when I made them, and believe me, I made them with all of my heart, and imagination, and with love.

I have characters that were mentioned by name before, or still just listed in my drafts, and now that they needed to appear, and with no brainpower left to think what they look like, I thought of actors and actresses, and beauty queens and models, and used their likeness as references!

Do keep in mind that they won't be exact copies of the person I referenced to. There are times I can't get their lips, or noses, or cheeks right so I had to tweak it more, or less, or something else (😭😭😭😭)

So, in order of their CAS creation, these are some of my characters (that had already appeared) with their references:

Iris -> Glaiza De Castro (queen of full bangs i must say)

Mata -> Ruru Madrid (he also had that strip thing on his brows, and i didn't realized i also gave Mata those lol)

Beatrice Valderama -> Chelsea Manalo (our miss universe philippines 🥺)

Kashvi Argunas -> Charithra Chandran (confession: i have never read or watched bridgerton, but i've seen clips of her in the show and she's so beautiful, so demure, so yeah)

Novandy because I'm helpless not to. What with years worth of full body nethugs, the childhood friends turned rivals thing, their genuine delight of being in each other's company, always, Novak literally saying that he has a "romance" with Andy (and then begrudgingly amending to "bromance" lol), the way they bicker about inconsequential things but always have each other's back (Andy the only top player who outright refused to criticise Novak during the Australia debacle "i'm not going to beat him when he's already down" i think were his words), Andy saying that people don't appreciate Novak's achievements enough and that he's supporting him when it comes to the Slam record...). genuinely despise people who exclude gaz or are just ignorant to him. especially when he is literally one of the most interesting characters in the game and was in the reboot triology BEFORE soap and ghost were even in it. gaz has such a great character development and he is written in such an interesting manner too due to how he was questioning the morals and purpose of whatever they were doing in mw1. he has come so far since then and has already started to form a great sense of leadership in the new campaign. there is NO WAY one can be so oblivious to gaz. that's just racism at this point.

Coming back to this, because I had another thought that's kinda sorta related

We've had these moments where it's implied or hinted that Ruin used to love his dimension's Monty. And that maybe he still possibly does, to some degree

And then before, in at least a couple different reaction videos (there's probably more, but I can only think of two right now), there were instances where Sun and Moon would react to videos, either on YouTube or TikTok, where Ruin is jokingly and lovingly portrayed as this gay british boy. I know at least Moon's commented on stuff like that, joking that Ruin's "so gay." Idk if Sun's made comments like that, since I just woke up and my memory is Not Good, but

They did say recently that reaction and gaming videos aren't straight up canon, and that they're more meta, in a sense

Meta, according to Google, is "(of a creative work) referring to itself or to the conventions of its genre; self-referential." So basically, Sun and Moon acknowledging their show and the universe they live in, or them acknowledging the fans who watch their show

In some roundabout way, could Ruin actually be gay? Since the comments about that are being made in a meta sort of context??

i support educated and informed self diagnosis, however, intelectual disability is not self diagnosable.

lastly dont involve me in any discourse, may that be queer discourse, system discourse or ship discourse, i dont care and it's odd.

the misinformation and ignorance a lot of folk put onto the topic of the puzzle piece symbolism on autism is often ableist and should be worked on in the lower needs autism community.
